June 29, 2016 - A settlement was reached in 2015 with the last remaining defendant in a 16 year-old lawsuit brought by the California Commissioner of Insurance in his capacity as liquidator of Executive Life Insurance Company. The French company, Artemis S.A. has agreed to pay $200 million in addition to $110 million previously paid to policyholders in 2006/2007. The Commissioner has applied to the Court for an order approving an interim distribution of $110.8 million of the settlement funds.
